An Eclectic Array

I’ve been trusted by numerous brands over the years, for all sorts of creative work. Large, established, iconic brands that many people will recognize, and small, scrappy startups. Playful, colorful brands that put a smile on your face. Yummy brands that make your taste buds dance. Brands that make you sweat. Brands that protect you. Brands that are steeped in cutting edge high technology, and brands that create magic from low-tech plastic.


The “Agency” Side…

I’ve worked in and out of the “agency side” for a number of years. From old reliable, global agencies, to young and more nimble shops that push boundaries. While at J. Walter Thompson, I served as Director of Interactive Services. This was the late 90’s/early 2000’s…. and the web was still a new frontier. My job, was to embrace new interactive technology in creative ways to serve the brands of my clients such as The United States Marine Corps, Orkin, and Ciba-Vision.

At MKTG, I was Creative Director for an experiential project for TOYOTA. At BBDO, I was working on out-of-home for healthcare and wineries. (A funny pairing.) At Macquarium, I was designing websites and chasing new accounts for brands like S.C. Johnson, Snap-On Tools, the New Jersey Devils, MGM, Bellsouth, Coca-Cola and dozens more.

The “CLIENT SiDE”

You might say that while on the client side, I created and/or managed “internal agencies.” I was the first Creative Director for F’Real Foods… a wicked-fast growing brand in the C-Store space that at the time, was selling upwards of 50 MILLION milkshakes and smoothies each year, in tens of thousands of convenience stores! (More on this in the F’Real section of my portfolio.) I created an in-house animation and content department, to create eye-catching motion graphics, attract loops and digital signage that was viewed by hundreds of millions of consumers per year. I also handled the retail packaging, POP displays, and experiential events.

As Design Manager at Perfect Fitness, we took a HOT new brand with just a handful of products, and turned it into one of the fastest growing companies on the INC 500! I handled retail packaging for dozens of products sold in mass retail such as Target and Walmart, as well as in specialty retail such as Dick’s, Sports Authority and other channels.

Leading the Creative Department for the iconic American toy brand “Wham-O” was a DREAM come true for me. I told my future boss that I’d happily be a janitor there, just so that I could say I worked for Wham-O. Thankfully, he trusted me with heading up all of the packaging, product decoration, and lots of other things in creative services. Some of the work I’m most proud of, from my entire career.
